The WHP is an electronic masterpiece that surpasses this reviewer’s expectations for a debut album in this genre. It is an eclectic mix of tones and pleasantly surprising melodies that tend to be disjointed and chaotic at times. This is appreciated and makes listening to the album an interesting experience. Some of the melody lines are fairly abrupt and could be developed more. However, all of the tones are well crafted and complement each other beautifully. The mix of light and dark tones is especially refreshing. There are also some very intense, heavy tones that are integrated quite well into the work. A few of the pieces would benefit from a more prominent base line. Unfortunately, one is occasionally reminded of video game music at times, and the music could possibly benefit from some acoustic instrumentation. However, there is some piano work present in the music that is phenomenal and makes up for any lack of other non-electronic instruments. The WHP is definitely worth your time and will instill a longing to experience a full-length album.
